The read
i
Source: three daily sources.
How to read these together. Breadth shows how widely prices participated; delivery shows how much traded volume became delivery; foreign flows show net institutional cash direction. Agreement strengthens the market read; disagreement is itself the useful signal.
Breadth and foreign flows lean risk-off; delivery does not. Breadth at 21.4%, delivery at 56.5% and foreign flows at −₹9,484 cr. The disagreement is the part worth having: it is what a single index number cannot show.

Each card states how often its source is meant to run. This says when it last did. The two are different questions, and only the second one can tell you a number on this page is speaking about an older day.
Three daily sources, each with the depth it actually has. A reading is only offered in a form its history can carry: deep feeds can be placed against their own past, shallow ones can only be placed in their stored range, and a feed too thin for either is refused rather than rounded. Descriptive, never a forecast.

Read as descriptive market state and never as a signal, breadth rising while delivery weakens can mean the tape is distributed into strength.
Each card reads one part of the market underneath the index: how broad, how delivered, how accumulated and how spread out the move was. Click a card for its recent trend and a plain-English read; Market internals holds full histories and definitions.
i
Share of the NSE indices we track that closed above their own 200-day average. Upbeat: 60% or more with the Nifty 50 above its average. Cautious: under 40%, the Nifty 50 below its average, or the nightly momentum check flashing. Otherwise Mixed.
i
NSE stocks (EQ series) that closed above, and below, their previous close in the session. Unchanged stocks are left out.
i
Share of NSE stocks that closed higher in the session; the line is the last 30 sessions. Above 50% means more stocks rose than fell.
i
The average of each NSE stock's delivery percentage: the part of its traded quantity taken into delivery rather than squared off the same day. The line is the last 30 sessions.
i
Stocks with an accumulation footprint minus stocks with a distribution footprint, as a share of all classified stocks, in percentage points. Zero means the two counts were equal, not that nothing happened.
i
Stocks whose strength against the broad market set a new 52-week high, even if the price is still below its own peak. Below that: stocks within 2% of their own 52-week price high. Equities only.
i
Stocks closing within 2% of their highest price of the last 24 months; beside it, those within 2% of their 24-month low. Only stocks with 24 months of history count. The panel adds the shorter windows.
i
How differently stocks moved from one another: the spread of one-day returns across NSE stocks, in percent. High favours stock selection; low means the market moved as one.
i
NSE's India VIX: the Nifty's expected volatility over the next 30 days, read from option prices. Higher means a wider expected move, in either direction.
i
Each sector index's move, and its gap to the Nifty 500 over the same sessions in percentage points. 1D is the latest session, 1W the last 5 sessions and 1M the last 21.
